The Society of Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) was created in 1973 as a forum for the leaders of architectural, engineering, construction, and related professional services firms to share knowledge, pool resources, and generate business opportunities. Over the years, SMPS has gained much respect in the A/E/C Industry for advocating, educating, and connecting leaders throughout the building industry.

Background

SMPS Boston continues the mission of SMPS by providing the Boston area with business development, networking, and educational opportunities throughout the year. The Chapter conducts a variety of education and outreach programs each year to promote the professional development of members and non-members alike. Our objective is to involve professionals and colleagues in the exchange of ideas about marketing and its role in the A/E/C community. Ultimately, our goal is to be considered the "go to" marketing resource for all people in the Boston area who work for firms serving the built environment.

SMPS Boston has been the recipient of several awards from SMPS National. In 2010, SMPS Boston's annual marketing awards event known as "Recognizing Outstanding Communications" (or "ROC" Awards), was recognized by SMPS National with the First Place Award for Special Event. In 2009, SMPS Boston won First Place in the SMPS National Chapter Communications Awards category for outstanding web site. And in 2008, SMPS Boston was awarded First Place, Extra Large Chapter, in the allinclusive "Striving for Excellence" competition among all 50+ chapters located in the United States and Canada, which recognizes a chapter's achievements in education, networking, membership, communications and other key chapter goals over the course of a full program year. In an effort to continue our award winning programs and events, SMPS Boston relies on sponsorships to keep costs down for members and allow us to bring in knowledgeable local and national speakers.

Membership
We host three membership events during the year: the Member Appreciation Event, the Holiday Party, and the New Member Event. To sponsor one of our Membership events, please contact Doug Reed.

Awards Gala
The annual ROC Award Gala is our largest event of the year. To sponsor our Award program, please contact Kerri Keane.

Regional Conferences
SMPS Boston and the other SMPS chapters in New England and New York come together annually for the Regional Conference, a multi-day conference that features prominent keynote speakers, educational and client-themed programs, and networking events. In-Kind Sponsorships

We welcome and appreciate in-kind support as another option, and look forward to discussing other ideas you may have for in-kind sponsorships. Appropriate recognition is provided depending on the event format, including verbal recognition, sponsor signage, sponsor recognition nametags, etc. Your contribution may assist with chapter operating expenses or any of the following:
