The Golf Committee is responsible for the planning, coordination, and facilitation of the SMPS Annual Charity Golf Tournament. The tournament is a favorite chapter event for members and friends who like to get outside and socialize with each other and clients. The tournament also serves as the chapter's principal opportunity to give back to those less fortunate through a charitable organization. For over ten years, the chapter has partnered with Rebuilding Together Boston.
Rebuilding Together Boston is a non-profit organization working in partnership with the community. Volunteers and skilled labor work together to stabilize and revitalize homes in our city at no cost to the recipient. Their initiative brings homeowners in need together with volunteers from all walks of life to preserve home ownership and reduce the risk of homelessness by improving the quality of the lives of our recipients.
With the uncertainty of today's housing climate coupled with stretching the dollar, the chapter's support is critical to RTB's missions. Our donations provide new windows and doors, energy efficiency upgrades, interior/exterior painting, and home modifications. Since its founding, RTB has been able to rehabilitate 185 homes and 44 non-profit facilities that benefit the undeserved population in the City of Boston.
