The designation serves as a mark of distinction - a CPSM is recognized as an individual who has met a rigorous standard of experience and expertise in marketing professional services.

SMPS Boston is committed to helping its members become CPSMs! For that reason, we provide the following:
Study Groups
Each year, SMPS Boston organizes a study group to help its members brush up on their knowledge of the six domains of practice. After an informational session that describes the application process, the group generally meets once a week for six weeks to review the required readings and go over the study guide. The study group usually wraps up a few weeks before the regional conference, so that members that would prefer to take the written exam can do so.
Scholarships
SMPS Boston understands that not all firms are willing to pay for people to take the exam. We offer one scholarship per year for members who need help covering the cost of the exam. The intent of the scholarship is to pay for the certification for individuals whose firms won't reimburse them, but it is open to all. Applicants must be an SMPS Boston member, must be eligible to take the exam and do so within three months of submitting the application, and must pass the exam.
